Earlier this year, Imgur commissioned and released an in-depth national study about the “Rise of Geek Culture”, bringing to life an influential, affluent group that is really hard to reach and influence. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the findings we’ll share as we take you through the study:
• Geek culture is going mainstream, and being a geek means something much more positive than it has in the past.
• 1 out of 4 millennials identify as being hardcore “geeks,” and they’re very different from their non-geek counterparts.
• Geeks are some of the most influential cultural trendsetters, with enormous purchasing power, but they’re one of the hardest segments for marketers to reach.
